Kategismusprediking

Abstract

Ek is gevra om te skryf oor Kategismusprediking. Aan die een kant is dit 'n maklike taak, omdat daar so baie aspekte van die onderwerp is wat voor die hand liggend is. Ons het immers as predikante in die Gereformeerde Kerk almal naasteby 52 maal in ’n jaar te doen met Kategismusprediking, en uit eie ervaring sowel as uit ons kennis van die Homiletiek is dit seker nie vir my moeilik om so ’n artikel te skryf nie. Aan die ander kant is dit tog ook weer ’n ontsaglik moeilike taak. Rede hiervoor is eintlik dieselfde — vele van die lesers weet self soveel van die onderwerp dat dit moeilik sal gaan om dit vir hulle aantreklik en smaakvol te behandel. Maar verder is dit ook moeilik omdat daar tog in ons Kerk ’n ingrypende verskil van opinie bestaan ten aansien van die metode van Kategismusprediking. Hierdie verskil van opinie vind ons nie maar net by lidmate nie, maar ook en veral by predikante en selfs by professore aan ons Teologiese Skool.
