Abstract
Een van die eerste geskrifte van Maarten Luther het gehandel oor „die vryheid van die Christen”. Op grond van sy fundamentele Skriftuurlike belydenis van regverdigmaking deur die geloof sonder die werke van die wet, verklaar hy dat die Christelike vryheid gewaarborg word deur die ge loof in Christus. Niemand het wet of werke nodig tot sy regverdiging en sy behoud nie. Die wet is alleen maar nodig om die mens aan sy sonde te herinner. Op sigself is dit ’n Bybelse gedagte. Paulus sê ook „deur die wet is die kennis van die sonde” (Rom. 3 : 20).Copyright information
