Abstract
Nêrens anders in die wye wêreld sou ons vandag liewer wou leef as hier in ons eie Republiek van Suid-Afrika nie. Hier is dit, in blakende sonlig, en dit behoort aan u. Ek sê dat dit die moeite werd is om daarvoor te veg. Dit is die moeite werd om daarvoor te lewe. Dit is die moeite werd om groot dinge daarvoor te doen. En dit is wat die mense van ons volk nog altyd gedoen het, die grotes en die tienduisende nederiges, elkeen op sy eie terrein, elkeen met die sekerheid in sy hart dat sy standpunt waar en reg was, sy doelstellinge rein en edel. So het hulle ons geskiedenis gemaak en aan ons volk ’n eie karakter gegee. So is ons Republiek geskep en gevorm deur mense op wie die volk kon vertrou. Dit is u Suid-Afrika, en as die dag aanbreek dat hierdie land van ons so besmet raak met die ondermynende en vernietigende denkrigtings van ’n verdwaasde en chaotiese wêreld, dat ons nie meer die kern, die hart en die siel van die bron van ons geestelike krag kan herken nie, dat ons ophou om mense te lewer op wie ons kan vertrou, sal ons ophou om as ’n volk te bestaan.Copyright information
