Abstract
Die term „Indier-Suid-Afrikaners” word deur die Indiërbe- volking hier te lande nadruklik bo die term „Suid-Afrikaanse Indiërs” verkies, omdat hierdie bevolkingsgroep alle reële bande met die moederland verbreek het en hartstogtelik verlang om volwaardig deel van die Suid-Afrikaanse staatsbestel te wees. Hulle wil net een vaderland ken, en dit is Suid-Afrika. Die daadwerklike uitvloeisel van hierdie begeerte word ook in hulle taalgebruik weerspieël. Die Afrikaners, wat deel gehad het en nog het aan ’n eie taalstryd, ken iets soortgelyks met die verskil dat hulle ’n eie Algemeen-Beskaaf gevorm het. Die taalgebruikskwessie is dan ook een van die interessantste verskynsels van die Indiërsamelewing.Copyright information
